What do I bring?

We want to give you the best and most accurate advice possible at your initial consultation. In order to do that, we need certain information from you. The more information you bring with you to your initial consultation, the better the advice we will be able to give you and the less information we will have to collect from you later.

If you do not have all of the information listed below, just bring as much as you have. You do not have to wait until you get all of the information together to meet with us. It is more important to meet with us sooner so that we can access your situation.

 For a Lawsuit, please bring these items to your appointment:

THE LETTER WE SENT YOU: Please make sure to bring the letter you received from us in the mail.

THE LAWSUIT: A copy of the lawsuit IF you have been served with it.  If you have not been served we can request a copy from the Court or the attorney that filed the lawsuit against you.  You do not have to wait to be served before meeting with us."

  For Filing Bankruptcy, please bring these items to your appointment:

MORTGAGE: Most recent mortgage statement and any letters received from your mortgage company or their attorneys;

CAR LOANS: Most recent car loan statements for each car loan;

CREDIT CARDS AND OTHER DEBTS: Most recent statement and all collection letters for all other debts including credit cards, medical bills, signature loans, pay day loans, student loans, repossession deficiencies, old (discontinued) utility and cell phone bills, and any other debt you have;

LAWSUITS/JUDGMENTS: Copy of any lawsuit filed against you or any judgment from a lawsuit. If you don't have a copy of the lawsuit or judgment, we need the case number and the name of the attorney that filed the lawsuit;

TAX RETURNS: 06 and 07 tax returns for both spouses;

CHECK STUBS: Most recent paycheck stubs for both spouses even if only one spouse is going to file bankruptcy. We will need at least 60 days of check stubs and maybe 6 months of check stubs when you FILE bankruptcy, but we only need your most recent check stub for purposes of your initial consultation;

SELF EMPLOYED INDIVIDUALS: Bring bank statements or monthly or year-to-date profit and loss statements. We will need detailed profit-and-loss statements when you file bankruptcy, but we only need general information for purposes of your initial consultation;
